If you want to try it yourself
- Probe the boards and the beams with a screwdriver. If it sinks in easily, the wood is rotted, and a rotted beam or post is not a small repair.
- Replace boards one at a time with matching deck boards, and pre-drill near the ends so the board does not split. Use deck screws rated for outdoor use.
- Tighten loose railing posts and balusters, and re-set any popped screws before they catch a foot.
- Never lean on or use a railing you have doubts about. Text us instead.
