If you want to try it yourself
- Rake in sections and bag as you go. A full bag of wet leaves is heavy, so fill bags only part way.
- Check your city's yard waste rules before you bag. Hampton Roads cities differ on bag type, bundle length, and pickup day.
- Trim only low overgrown brush that you can reach from the ground. Anything near power lines or high in a tree is not a handyman job.
- Wear gloves and closed shoes, and watch for thorny brush or insects in piles.
