If you want to try it yourself
- Draw a level line first and trust the level, not your eyes. A shelf that looks fine while you hold it often tilts once it is screwed on.
- Screw into a stud when you can. If the spot has no stud, use a wall anchor rated for more weight than you plan to put on the shelf.
- Check the bubble again before the last screw. Small corrections are easy before everything is tight.
- Heavy items such as books need studs or heavy-duty anchors. Drywall alone will not hold them.
