If you want to try it yourself
- Measure the frame, and buy the right spline. The spline is the thin rubber cord that holds the screen in the groove. Take the old one with you to match the thickness.
- Pull the old spline and screen out, lay the new mesh over the frame, and press the spline back in with a spline roller. Keep the mesh straight and just snug.
- Trim the extra mesh with a sharp blade last.
- Check the frame. A bent or cracked frame will not hold a new screen well, and that changes the job.
If it looks bigger than you expected, or you would rather not climb, drill, or lift, text us a photo and we will tell you what the job involves and what to buy, or we can do it for you.
What to send in your photo
- The whole screen or door, from outside.
- A close-up of the damage and the frame corners.
- The spline groove, if you can see it.
